Illustrated the cover for “Manila takes Manhattan” written by Carla de Guzman published by Afterglow Books by Harlequin. This book will be available this coming March 26, 2024 but bookstores worldwide are accepting pre-order of both paperback and kindle versions online.
They wanted to prominently feature the couple, showcase the iconic Manhattan backdrop, and subtly incorporate elements that hinted Manila as they are both Filipinos. With the Philippines being a rich biologically diverse country, I incorporated endemic flowers at the bottom of the cover to infuse the cultural heritage into the design. The title was a hand written script that gives that personal touch that seemed like it was written by Olivia. Characters, Olivia, being the actress, is depicted in a more glamorous attire, exuding a movie star aura, while Mon’s more casual attire reflects his musician persona.
